The Central University of Finance and Economics was established on June 6th, 1949+065438. It is the first new higher financial institution founded by the Central People's Government after the founding of New China. 1In August 1952, it merged with the departments of economics of Peking University, Tsinghua, Fu Jen and Yanjing to form the Central Institute of Finance and Economics.1June 1996, it was renamed as the Central University of Finance and Economics.

Shahe Campus of the Central University of Finance and Economics is located in the northeast of Shahe Higher Education Park in Changping District, Beijing, with the Sixth Ring Road in the north, Shunsha Road in the south and Huichang Road in the east. The total area is about 1 184.7 mu. The first and second phases of the first phase of the project have been completed, and the construction area is about160,000 square meters, which can accommodate nearly 7,000 students.
