During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the post road was divided into two roads, with a total length of 322 miles.

After several periods of development in Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China, a road network with Lecheng, Hongqiao, Furong, Dajing, Liushi and Beibaixiang as hubs was formed in the late Republic of China, with a general road width of 1.2 m to 1.5 m. The east wind post road is fragrant with horseshoes, from spring to dawn and sunset. For thousands of years, many literati have written poems or articles for these ancient roads, and many peddlers and sages have left footprints on these ancient roads. These ancient roads scattered on the land of Yueqing and spanning time and space are all condensed with beautiful natural landscapes and heavy human history.
According to the general survey of the forestry department of Yueqing City, there are 47 ancient roads in Yueqing, which are well preserved, with good ecological environment and beautiful scenery, and have certain historical and cultural background and development value. The total length is about 19 1 m, including official road 10 m, plank road 1 m and 36 folk passages.
"Wenzhou Ancient Road Yueqing Chapter" selects 27 representative ancient roads in Yueqing, and describes the natural environment, forest landscape, historical sites, people and things of the ancient roads in detail in the form of travel notes, photos and instructions. The Panshan Ancient Road, known as the "Kingdom of East Ou" national road, is still in the white clouds of Xiegongling Ancient Road, a weather-beaten "thoroughfare of Zhejiang and Fujian".
These ancient roads, lying in the mountains, exude a quaint charm in the changes of the years, drifting with the feelings of the past, which makes people sigh. Shuttling between these ancient roads, you can not only appreciate the beautiful scenery endowed by nature, but also feel and explore human history. After years of elutriation, the Mianmian ancient road has blurred its original appearance, but it also evokes people's feelings of cherishing the ancient road and their sense of responsibility for exploration and protection. As a rare cultural heritage, the ancient civilization rooted in this land still inspires today and the future.
