Branislav ivanovic joined the Moscow Locomotive Team and signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, becoming the second player signed by avram Grant in January.
The 23-year-old Serbian international is a versatile player. He can play right-back, centre-back or defensive midfielder. He started his career in Skopje Mitrovica, the local club where he was born. Soon after, he came to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and played for OFK Belgrade, where he spent three seasons. Then he joined the locomotive in the summer of 2006. In this season's UEFA Cup, he appeared in the Russian team.
As the star of Serbia's national team under the age of 2/Kloc-0 in the European Youth Championships in 2006 and 2007, Ivanovic was selected as the best team in the UEFA competition last summer and successfully became the main force of the adult national team. He made his debut for Serbia and Montenegro in June 2006, and now he has become the main force of Serbia together with Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United.
