Historical background of Ili general mansion
In the 22nd year of Qianlong (1757), the Qing dynasty * * * put down the rebellion in Junggar, and unified the western regions.

In the twenty-seventh year of Qianlong (1762), the "Ili President and other generals" was established as the highest official position in the Qing Dynasty.

The scope of governance includes the military and political affairs in the east and south of Balkhash Lake, the upper reaches of Irtysh River, the north and south of Tianshan Mountain, Pamir and other places.

During 1764 ~ 1777, Huiyuan, Suiding, Ningyuan, Gong Zhen, Taleqi, Ren Guang, Zhande, Xichun and Huining were built in the Ili Valley, which was called the Nine Cities in history.

After the Revolution of 1911, the Ili garrison ambassador was stationed here, but the past scene no longer exists. Today, this place belongs to Huocheng, but the bell tower of Huiyuan City and some sites of General Ili House are still preserved.
