Wu Zetian entered the palace at the age of fourteen and became a gifted scholar in Li Shimin of Emperor Taizong. After Tang Gaozu acceded to the throne, Wu Zetian was named Zhao Yi. Feng Taihou was born in Beiyan royal family. After the demise of Beiyan, it was accepted as a handmaiden by Emperor Tuoba Tao. In 452 AD, she was elected a nobleman by Wen Chengdi, and was made queen in 456 AD. After Xian Wendi acceded to the throne, he was honored as the Empress Dowager, participated in the temporary hearing of state affairs, and then eliminated the power minister.
In 476 AD, Emperor Xianwen died, Feng Taihou's grandson TaBaHong became Emperor Xiaowen, and Feng Taihou was honored as the Empress Dowager. Feng Taihou supported Emperor Xiaowen for more than ten years and was also the actual leader of the mid-term reform in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Her reform also laid a cultural foundation for the later unification of Sui and Tang Dynasties.

Lv Zhi was the original wife of Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang, who accompanied Liu Bang from nothing to becoming emperor. After Liu Bang's death, Lv Zhi was called the Empress Dowager. Lv Zhi was also the first empress and empress dowager in the history of China, and the first woman to participate in politics in the feudal society of China. She also set a precedent for the exclusive rights of consortia.
After Lv Zhi took office, he implemented the national policy of "the skill of Huang Lao" and the policy of "divorcing the people". She also ordered to encourage people to collect books, provide books and restore old classics. Her "governance by doing nothing" laid the foundation for the later "governance by culture". Sima Qian also affirmed Lv Zhi's policy.

Fu Hao is the first female military commander in the history of China and an outstanding politician. Oracle Bone Inscriptions recorded that she had been instructed by Shang Zhouwang many times to lead the army against the Qiang people and defeated many invaders. She also led soldiers to fight against slaves and tried her best to safeguard the rule and power of slave owners, which won Wu Ding's favor. After Fu Hao died, Wu Ding was very sad. Later generations of Shang Dynasty honored her as "mother Xin and stepmother Xin".
