Brief introduction of Changjiang Road in Hefei
Changjiang Road is located in the commercial center of Hefei Old Town. It starts from Changjiang Road and Bridge in the east and reaches Huancheng West Road in the west, with a total length of 2,990 meters, which is the east-west main road.

Wangfujing in Beijing is famous at home and abroad, and Nanjing Road in Shanghai is extremely prosperous. In Hefei, there is also a road that makes Anhui people proud-Changjiang Road, which is known as "the first road in Anhui".

Changjiang Road is a commercial artery in Hefei, which is equivalent to Wangfujing Road and Nanjing Road in Beijing and Shanghai. For Hefei, the Yangtze River Road not only undertakes the traffic function of the urban trunk road, but also has important functions such as commerce, life, administrative office, culture and education.

In particular, the irreplaceable traffic and the commercial atmosphere that can't be replicated after historical precipitation make it urgent to transform and upgrade Changjiang Road under the background of Hefei's current great construction and development.

● At first, Changjiang Road was only 5 meters wide.

According to the records of Hefei County annals in the eighth year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, there are Xiaodongmen Street (now Xiaodongmen) in Yong Men, and Kuixinglou, Fanxiangkou and Qian Jie (now Ximen Street) in the west. In modern Hefei city map, there are Xiaodongmen Street (now Xiaodongmen to Jiuqiao Street), Qian Jie Street (now Suzhou Road to Jinzhai Road) and Ximen Street (now Jinzhai Road to Huancheng West Road) from Xiaodongmen Street to Xipingmen (now Daximen). The roads of the above three main streets are narrow and curved, and they are stone roads, and cars can pass. Among them, except the front street is 6-7 meters wide, the width of other streets is 5 meters.

● 1955 officially named Changjiang Road.

1950 Construction was organized by the Construction Section of Hefei Municipal Government at that time to renovate the section from the northern section of Jinzhai Road to Daximen. The width of the paved gravel road is 5 meters.

From 65438 to 0952, the southern section of Suzhou Road to the middle section of Hanshan Road was rebuilt, with a total length of 372. 5 meters, and the width of the paved gravel pavement is 5 meters.

1953 Renovation of the section from Changjiang Road and Bridge to Jiushi Street, straightening of some bends, paving with gravel pavement, with an investment of 887 yuan. 350,000 yuan (old version of RMB).

On July 1954, the construction was organized by the Construction Bureau of the municipal government, and the three main lines of Qian Jie, Xiaodongmen Street and Ximen Street were expanded respectively, which were completed at the end of that year. The width of the expanded road is 25 meters. Among them, the width of the roadway is 15m. The width of sidewalks on both sides of the road is 5 meters. The underground drainage pipeline was laid for the first time, and the traffic police command center island and traffic booth were set up. The total investment of the expansion project is 48. 60 thousand yuan.

1955 Changjiang Road was officially named.

1 956 March1August 16, the preparatory office of municipal engineering company organized construction, trimmed the pavement of Changjiang Road and paved two layers of fine-grained asphalt pavement, with a total investment of 1 1. 490 thousand yuan.

196 1- 1963 The central islands located at Jinzhai intersection, Suzhou intersection and Huizhou intersection of the Yangtze River were demolished one after another, and the road surface was treated with new asphalt.

1985 The construction was organized by the municipal administration office, and the Yangtze River Road was paved with black gravel 9 meters wide and 5 centimeters thick, with a total investment of140,000 yuan. At the end of the same year, Changjiang Road was 2990 meters long and 25 meters wide.
