The origin of wa state
The origin of Wa State is a complicated historical issue. Wa nationality is an autonomous region of ethnic minorities in Myanmar, located in the northeast of Myanmar, bordering China and Thailand. The name of the Wa nationality comes from the Wa nationality in the history of China, which was called Wa nationality or Puman in Qing Dynasty and Wa nationality after the Republic of China.
The history of the Wa people can be traced back to BC13rd century, when their ancestors lived in southwest Yunnan. They lived a nomadic life, raised elephants and established many tribes in the mountainous areas. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Wa people began to migrate to the north of Myanmar, mixing with the local Rakhine people and other ethnic minorities.
194 1 year, in order to prevent Japanese troops from entering Myanmar, British colonists decided to establish a protected area in northern Myanmar, named Irrawaddy River Protected Area. The British invited the Wa leader Aung San to join the organization and appointed him as Prime Minister. Ahongzada accepted the British proposal, but demanded that the Wa people's autonomy be preserved.
After Ahonzada went into exile in India, he continued to lead the Wa people against British colonial rule. 1945, after World War II, Britain was forced to give up its rule over Myanmar. In the same year, Ahongzada returned to North Myanmar to rebuild the Wa State. He announced the establishment of a country called the Union of Myanmar as his king. However, this regime was quickly annexed by the central government of Myanmar.
1948, Ahongzada went into exile in India again and established a joint Wa military government. Since then, the Wa State has become an independent armed force and has waged guerrilla warfare with the Myanmar government for decades. It was not until the1960s that the United Wa military government reached a ceasefire agreement with the Myanmar government, ending the state of war.
1960, the United Wa military government officially announced the establishment of the Wa Republic, with Ahong Zada as president. Since then, Wa has become a minority autonomous region in Myanmar. Although the status of Wa State in the world has been controversial, it is still an important political entity in the border area between China and Myanmar.
