"A Tower Shadows Tongzhou" is twelve scenes of Lingyun in Wenchang Pavilion, written by Wang Weizhen in Qing Dynasty. The scenery described in the poem is Lingyun in the ancient pagoda, which was the first of the eight scenes in Tongzhou at that time. The ancient pagoda refers to the burning Buddha pagoda. Burning Buddha Pagoda is located in the west bank of the canal at the northern end of Tongzhou, in the north gate of Tongzhou Old Town. Poet Wang Weizhen, a native of Tianjin, arrived in Tongzhou along the North Canal when he went to Beijing to take the exam. This ancient city left a deep impression of "beautiful scenery and prosperous Yan country". In this poem, the phrase "one tower reflects Tongzhou" fully embodies that the burning stupa has been an important symbol of Tongzhou since ancient times.
