After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, General Li, former deputy governor of Songjiang Province and president of Harbin Sino-Soviet Friendship Association, fought tit-for-tat with the Kuomintang reactionaries' plot to undermine peace and launch a civil war as an open country in China. The secret agents of the Binjiang Group of the Kuomintang Military Bureau hated Li, listed him as the first assassination target, and made long-term preparations and careful plans.
I remember that it was1March 8, 946, when Harbin celebrated Women's Day on March 8, and Sun Geling, the mayor's secretary, made an appointment with Li to discuss the election of deputies to the National People's Congress. On the evening of March 9th 1, Li went to Nangang to attend the meeting of the municipal party committee. At about 3 pm, he told Zhong Ziyun, secretary of the municipal party committee, that he had an appointment in advance and needed to leave, so he left the meeting room. But things are very bad. The car he was riding broke down, so the driver and his guard had to repair it. Li found a carriage at random, returned to the Sino-Soviet Friendship Association, and picked him up after the car was repaired. However, it's already 3: 30, and the car has not been repaired. Considering that the party's work can't be delayed, Li Yiran decided to go first and hurriedly wrote on the calendar on the desk: "At 3 pm, please go to No.9 Beidao Street to discuss the national congress." Then ask the secretary Yu Kai to tell the guards to look for him as soon as they come back. General Li was tricked into the room at No.9 North Road Street (today's street) in Harbin. Sun Geling introduced him to a room carefully arranged by Kuomintang agents on the second floor. Sun Geling politely asked Li to sit down and poured a cup of potassium cyanate black tea enthusiastically. Li took a sip politely and suddenly felt that the tea had a strange taste. Sun Geling said, "Change it." She hurried to the door, shouted "another cup of tea" in a prearranged code, and then slipped away. At this moment, three criminals, Gao Qing III and Yan, broke into the living room. Immediately, Li launched a life-and-death struggle with them. After fierce fighting, Li was injured in many places and was finally outnumbered. In addition, he fainted because of a drug attack, and the cruel executioner killed him with a dagger. In this way, General Li, a 36-year-old anti-Japanese national hero, was assassinated by Kuomintang military agents.
After the news of Li's death came out, the people in Northeast China were so sad that they held demonstrations and rallies to condemn the fascist atrocities of Kuomintang reactionaries. More than 60,000 people from all walks of life and citizens in Harbin held a public sacrifice for General Li, and a grand "memorial meeting" was held in the northeast and even all parts of the country. Soon, the people's government arrested and executed the murderer of General Li. In memory of General Li, the citizens changed Beidao Street into a street, Daoli Park into a park, a Zhao Lin cinema and a primary school, so as to always remember General Li, an anti-Japanese national hero.
