Burning Yuanmingyuan is a historical TV series jointly produced by New Kunlun Film Co., Ltd. and China Film Co-production Company, directed by Li Hanxiang and starring Liu Xiaoqing, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Kerwin Chen and Zhang Tie-Lin. Based on the historical background of the British and French allied forces burning the Yuanmingyuan, the film tells the story of how Cixi grew from an unknown girl to a favorite of Emperor Xianfeng.
