2. 1, DotA classic

During the ROC (warcraft 3: The Rule of Chaos) period, a player named Euls made the first ROC DotA. Because WAR3 is still in the promotion stage, DotA did not become popular on a large scale during this period. Unfortunately, after making a frozen version of DotA, that is, DOTA 2 (the third battle of the ancients: Gamma), Euls stopped the development of DOTA series maps.

During the period of TFT (warcraft 3: Frozen Throne), Euls did not make any DotA maps in TFT, but at this time, many people began to make similar maps in TFT.

2.2, DotA All-Star Game

Guinsoo, one of the authors, began to add some sound and light effects to the map (this is the beginning of Guinsoo's creation of allstar). Because the popularity of dota has always been good, gunisoo has never given up creating and improving new dota. At that time, a small number of people (very few, only about 10) created the first discussion version for DotA, called "9nid". This is the earliest semi-official forum of DotA. With the continuous promotion of WAR3, DotA is becoming more and more popular, and the users of 9nid discussion boards are also increasing. Finally, one day, the server could not be loaded, and then the discussion board was transferred to rtsgames, and the so-called DotA alliance was established at this time. The first alliance is TDA tribe, which was founded in April 2004. At that time, the official DotA competition (the only officially certified competition) began on the map of the All-Star 5.84 international game syndicate IGS. There are 20 teams in the first session and 45 teams in the second session. After that, more and more people participated (there is now a team of 1049).

The increasingly popular Dota has a new collector's edition: "DotA 10.0 Dark Coming". Gunisoo modified the ordinary dota map three times, and under the influence of the player's reaction, it returned to the "dark arrival" series, and then made the 10 version. The collector's edition is over. It's a new dota stage. The original dota map was officially named: DotA Allstars(dota All Stars, which is what we are playing now. )。 The pioneering work of the All-Star series: DOTA All-Star Beta v0.95. This is a milestone in the development of dota map. In the subsequent map development, the "All-Star" series has been designated as the final series of DOTA. Slowly develop from one version to the next.

Because there are more and more players, the work of map updating becomes huge. Finally, Guinsoo began to seek the help of other map makers (Icefrog is one of them). Icefrog took over from 6. 10. Icefrog is by far the best DOTA map maker. Unlike Guinsoo, he doesn't deal with many mistakes. With the progress of Icefrog, there are obviously fewer map bugs now. Icefrog is also more receptive to other people's opinions. Nowadays, many new things (heroes, props, systems) are created by the suggestions of discussion boards.
