The enemy asked his mother and his wife, who had just been born for three days, to meet him. He said to his mother, "Mother, my children can't be filial. I swear to death not to be conquered people, and I will resolutely fight the war to the end! " The enemy tortured his lover's head in every way, which could not shake his revolutionary will at all. On the third day, the enemy was so angry that he stuffed cotton into his mouth, poured kerosene on his body and burned him alive. He is only 23 years old.

1945 After the Japanese invaders surrendered, Hexi County Committee and Pandian District Committee held a memorial service for Zhang Martyrs. County magistrate Zhang Qiumin delivered a eulogy, presided over by Ma Jiancun, secretary of the district party committee. The county brigade, the officers and men of the third regiment, the militia of the whole region, students and the surrounding people participated. A monument was built for Zhang Li in the village.
