5. Yu Guangzhong's attachment to the motherland

Yu Guangzhong, a famous poet in Taiwan Province Province, warned in his speech in Haikou on October 7, 2004 that Taiwan Province Province should add and multiply Chinese culture instead of subtraction and division, and should not abandon Chinese culture for 50 years of politics.

Yu Guangzhong made the above remarks when answering questions from Hainan University students about the attitude of young students in Taiwan Province Province to China's classical literature at the China Youth Cultural Development Forum held here.

Yu Lao said that Taiwan Province Province has always attached great importance to the inheritance of China's classical literature, and the objects of university research or writing papers are mostly classical literature. However, due to political reasons, Taiwan Province Province has been promoting the education of "de-China" in recent years, and some schools even only assess students' understanding of the historical geography of Taiwan Province Province when assessing the historical geography of China. This makes China culture narrow in Taiwan Province Province.

Yu Lao said with a heavy tone that Taiwan Province Province should be tolerant and do addition and multiplication for the development and growth of Chinese culture, instead of exclusive mentality and subtraction and division.

In the great circle of Chinese culture, all circles are concentric circles, and the center of the circle can be everywhere, and the compasses (edges) are vast and untraceable! Otherwise, in today's globalization, without its own national standard culture, China's culture will be blown to pieces by the beautiful storms in Europe.

Today, Yu Guangzhong gave a special lecture entitled "The Unity of Heaven and Man in China's Poetry" to more than 500 young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. From the songs of Chu in the Book of Songs to the poems of Tang and Song Dynasties, he was full of confidence, and Kan Kan talked about it, which made young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait deeply realize the beauty and profundity of China's classical poems.

He smiled and said that he became younger with today's young people. At the request of the students, Yu Lao also recited Homesickness across the Taiwan Strait.
