1796, Qianlong, Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty, reigned, and Gala, the fifteenth son, succeeded to the throne.

Jiaqing was the seventh emperor of the Qing Dynasty (the fifth after entering the customs). Armadillo (formerly known as Yan Yong), fifteen sons of Qianlong. 1773 was secretly built as the crown prince. 1789 was named Prince Jia. Sixty years (1795), officially declared as the Crown Prince. In the first month of the second year, Emperor Qianlong ascended the throne. Later, the government was still under the control of Emperor Qianlong, the emperor's father, and he lived in Yuqing Palace temporarily. In the fourth year of Jiaqing (1799), Emperor Qianlong died and began to lead the government.
