Wa people have dark and healthy skin, and children are no exception. Older people, both men and women, love to hold bamboo pipes in the mountains. When they are quiet, they smoke a few mouthfuls and watch with an idyllic flavor. Walking on the narrow path, thatched wooden houses, pigsty, kennel and henhouse are next to each other. Women wearing Wa costumes with ethnic characteristics are knitting cloth by hand in the small yard, and children are playing with each other, accompanied by countless cows' heads inside and outside the house. When you enter the villagers' home, the hospitable host will entertain you with dialects you don't understand and bitter tea you often drink. If there are branches and green leaves hanging at the door, it means that a new life has been born at home. Climbing up the hillside behind the village, you can overlook the whole village and see the smoke rising from the thatched cottage, which is a quiet and serene scene. The traditional Wa people's reception is very warm, and the Wa people with wooden drums will sing to everyone who comes here.
Because many unique cultural phenomena have been miraculously preserved here, Weng Ding Yuan Wa was listed in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection list published by Yunnan Provincial People's Government in 2006. With more and more tourists from all over the country and the world, Weng Ding began to convey and show the traditional customs and culture of the Wa nationality to the outside world.
