Different from other versions of historical atlas, the 1980 version of Historical Map of China pays more attention to restoring historical sites.

This book consists of two volumes: the first volume is the territory, covering the historical map of China (from prehistoric sites, Kyushu, Gong Yu, Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties to the Republic of China); The second volume includes the major cities, economy, irrigation and transportation network, social changes, handicrafts, wars and battles in China's history. There are 257 drawings in the book, including 59 in the first volume and 0/98 in the second volume.
