1, Yellow Crane Tower bid farewell to Meng Haoran on the way to Yangzhou.

Tang Dynasty: Li Bai

Old friends frequently waved to me, bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower, and traveled to Yangzhou in this beautiful spring filled with catkins and flowers.

My friend's sail shadow faded away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only seeing the first line of the Yangtze River and heading for the distant horizon.

translate

My friend said goodbye to me at the Yellow Crane Tower, and went to Yangzhou for a long trip in the spring of March when catkins were like smoke and flowers were like flowers. The shadow of the solitary sail gradually disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only to see the rolling Yangtze River heading for the sky.

Brief introduction of the author

Li Bai (70 1-762), the word Taibai, was a romantic poet in the Tang Dynasty and was praised as a "poetic immortal" by later generations. My ancestral home is Ji Cheng in Longxi (to be tested), and I was born in Broken Leaf City in the Western Regions. At the age of 4, he moved to Mianzhou City, Jiannan Province with his father. Li Bai has more than 1000 poems, among which Li Taibai Ji has been handed down from generation to generation. He died in 762 at the age of 6 1.

Creation background

When Li Bai lived in Anlu, he met Meng Haoran, who was twelve years older than him, and soon became close friends. In March 730 (the eighteenth year of Kaiyuan), Li Bai learned that Meng Haoran was going to Guangling (now Yangzhou, Jiangsu) and asked Meng Haoran to meet him in Jiangxia (now Wuchang District, Wuhan). A few days later, Meng Haoran took a boat to the east, and Li Bai personally sent it to the river. When I was leaving, I wrote this song "Farewell to Meng Haoran on the way to Yangzhou by the Yellow Crane Tower".

2. Look at Lushan Waterfall

Tang Dynasty: Li Bai

The purple mist is illuminated by sunlight, and the waterfall hangs in front of the mountain.

On the high cliff, it seems to be thousands of feet high, which makes people think that the Milky Way has fallen from heaven to earth.

translate

The censer peak gives birth to a purple mist under the sunlight, and a waterfall hangs in front of the mountain like white satin from a distance. There seems to be thousands of feet of waterfalls on the high cliff, as if the Milky Way had fallen from the cliff for nine days.

Creation background

This poem is generally believed to have been written by Li Bai when he visited Lushan Mountain for the first time on his way to Jinling around 725 AD (13th year of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty).

3. Gifts for Wang Lun

Tang Dynasty: Li Bai

Li Bai was just about to leave when he heard a farewell song from the shore.

Even if the Peach Blossom Pond is deep, it is not as deep as Wang Lun's sending away my love.

translate

Li Bai was about to leave by boat when he heard singing on the shore. Even if the Peach Blossom Lake is as deep as thousands of feet, it can't compare with what Wang Lun did to me.

Creation background

This poem was written by Li Bai when he traveled from Qiupu to Taohuatan in Jingxian County (now Anhui Province) in the 14th year of Tianbao, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (755). When Li Bai visited Taohuatan in Jingxian County (now Anhui Province), he forged a deep friendship with Wang Lun. During the reign of Tianbao in Kaiyuan, Wang Lunling made Jingxian County, and Li Bai "waited for it, and money could not bear to be divided". According to this poem or when visiting for Li Bai, Wang Lun lived in Taohuatan.

4. "I heard that Wang Changling left and moved to Longbiaoyao to deliver this."

Tang Dynasty: Li Bai

After the easy autumn, cuckoo clock, I heard you pass five streams.

My heart is full of sorrow, and the moon is full of sorrow. I will always follow you until Yelangxi.

translate

When Huayang finished singing, I heard that you were demoted to Long Biaowei, and you had to go through Wuxi. I put my sad thoughts on the bright moon, hoping to accompany you to Yelangxi with the wind.

Creation background

This song "I heard that Wang Changling moved to the left of Longbiao Kiln with this news" was probably written in 753 AD (the twelfth year of Tianbao in Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty). At that time, Wang Changling was demoted from Jiangningcheng to a captain in Longbiao County (now Qianyang County, Hunan Province), and Li Bai wrote this poem after hearing that his friend was demoted to Yangzhou.

5. Looking at Tianmen Mountain

Tang Dynasty: Li Bai

The Yangtze River splits the Tianmen Peak like a giant axe, and the green river flows around the island.

The green hills on both sides are neck and neck, and a boat meets leisurely from the horizon.

translate

The Yangtze River splits the male peak of Tianmen like a giant axe, and the Qingjiang River flows eastward here. The beautiful scenery of the green hills on both sides of the strait is inseparable, and a solitary boat comes from the horizon.

Creation background

Looking at Tianmen Mountain was written by Li Baichu on his way to Jiangdong via Dangtu (now Anhui) in 725 AD (13th year of Kaiyuan).
