Few scholars in the medical field are so knowledgeable and selfless. "The geek in the medical field" is worthy of the name.

Learn Chinese and western medicine, and be good at treating digestive system diseases.

1924 In February, the Song family arrived in Shanghai for the first time. As a young returned overseas Chinese from Macau, he devoted himself to the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine founded by Ding Ganren. Because of his diligence, hard study and eagerness to learn, he won the respect and love of Shi Ding. The next year, due to the sudden death of his brother, the only source of income for studying in Song Dynasty was cut off. I had to drop out of school in poverty and helplessness. After learning this situation, President Ding decided to accept nothing and provide accommodation for the Song family to complete their studies free of charge, and finally became the eighth graduate. Rainbow Ji Min.

Mr Wang Jimin is a leading figure in the medical history of China, and he has a great influence on Song Daren. Because of similar experiences and fellow villagers, Song and Wang became like-minded friends in the study of medical history until their death. The residence of the two people is similar to that of the Chinese Medical Association. In the late 1950s, I was a sophomore. Since I met them, I have visited them every Sunday and often traveled back and forth between Wang and Song. The scene at that time seemed to be in front of us. Now people are empty. Song's former residence was razed to the ground and another high-rise building was built. Looking at each other from a distance, I am infinitely disappointed.

Wang is older than Song. Song regards Wang as an elder, and Wang regards him as a rising star according to his seniority. He cares about Song very much, discusses academics, confides in him, cooperates tacitly and is satisfied. The friendship between them is profound. From June, 65438 to July, 0956, both of them participated in the first scientific seminar on the history of natural science in China, China Academy of Sciences. This is the highest-level gathering since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and it is also the only gathering. Received by Premier Zhou Enlai, and participated in the discussions and banquets of President Guo Moruo, Vice President Zhu Kezhen, Minister Li Dequan and Vice Minister Xu.

From 65438 to 0937, when the China Medical History Society was founded, the group photo of Wang Jimin, Li Tao and Song Daren at the entrance of the medical society became an important and precious document in the history of medicine. Song served as a member and accountant in the early days of the Medical History Society. At the first national congress of medical history after the Cultural Revolution, Song Daren was elected as an adviser to the National Committee.

Song wrote more than 380 academic papers on medical history, edited more than 90 kinds of medical books, published more than 0 kinds of medical history monographs/kloc-0, and produced more than 200 scientific and technological paintings and portraits of medical history. 1953, Japanese medical historian Fu interprets the first and second volumes of World Medical History, with about 380,000 words (unpublished). A study on the biographical historical records and records of unjust cases of Song Ci, a great forensic doctor (unpublished).

These academic achievements have condensed the Song family's 50 years of painstaking research and hard work.

Friendly exchanges with Joseph Needham

Internationally renowned scholars such as Needham in Britain and Daoshu in Japan have deep contacts with the Song family. Needham had a history of friendly exchanges with Song Daren because of his book History of Science and Technology in China.

So far, the author has kept two letters from Needham to the Song family: 1963 and 1964. In 1969, Li also presented songs and 1 photos with their autographs on the back.

Needham visited China eight times. Among them, 1964 and 1972 named to meet with the Song family to discuss the history of traditional Chinese medicine because Li thought: "The conceptual system of this volume is too difficult for westerners to understand. After giving special meanings to common vocabulary and philosophical terms, some subtle and accurate terms are formed ... Therefore, we must try our best to correctly reflect the history of China medicine. In a word, he met with difficulties, so he was eager to meet with the Song family to discuss. However, due to the interference of the ultra-left forces, Song Li was not allowed to meet. Until May 1978, Li visited China again and asked for an interview with Song. Fortunately, the Gang of Four was crushed and finally approved by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is said that with the approval of Comrade Hu Yaobang, the meeting was arranged in Shanghai Song Yu May 1979.

At the meeting, Needham introduced Song's History of Science and Technology in China. Song returned rubbings, photos, two "six dynasties white copper coins" and a set of 24 "portraits of famous doctors in China" as a souvenir.

After this interview, Song once wrote two poems, Langtaosha and Lv Qi, welcoming Dr. Needham and Dr. Lv Guizhen, published in Guangming Daily in June 1978+0 1, and presented Dr. Lv Guizhen's "Xijiang Moon" (unpublished). After Joseph Needham returned to Cambridge, he recommended Song Daren to the East Asian Library of Science and History as honorary consultant of Chinese medical history.

On Joseph Needham's 77th birthday, Song Daren presented a song called Niannujiao. Word cloud:

Thousands of people admire, old authority, and fame in the world.

Peace-loving, justice-loving, leading figure in scientific field.

His achievements in biochemistry, embryo, medicine, engineering and history are particularly outstanding.

Global teaching, long-term diversified higher vocational education.

The article makes the past serve the present, tracing back to the source and exploring tirelessly for half a century.

Written as History of Science and Technology in China, praising brilliant achievements.

Research invites each other, friends are all over the world, and friendship comes from close relatives.

At the age of 77, Song Qingyong Mao got his wish!

1980 Autumn, Song wrote "Dr. Needham's Contribution to the History of Science and Technology in China" with 120 seven-character verse to show his respect and congratulations to Needham.

Song Daren asked Joseph Needham to write an inscription for his book The History of Primitive Social Medicine in China. Li Xinran writes in Chinese and leaves his Chinese name as a seal. All the above are the testimony of the exchanges and friendship between the older generation of Chinese and British historians of science and technology. It also became the last stop for Needham and Song Daren to communicate.

Versatile

The Song family studied painting with the teacher since childhood and had a solid foundation. I also like addiction and being my own family. 1in June, 943, the Shanghai Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine published the book Eight Famous Doctors in China. Liu Haisu asked Shen Xinqing, Zheng Wuchang, Fan Xingzhun and Zhu Tianfan to write a poem. The four outstanding figures in medical history are: 1. Alchemy map of Qianchuan; Second, Zhongjing wrote a book; Third, the yuan abdomen map; Fourth, the minister corrected the wrong picture. One of the four outstanding figures in medical history, Hongjing's drug examination chart; Second, Su Jing's drawings; Third, sign the square map carefully; Fourth, Shi Zhen's martyrdom map.

This book takes three years, and the manuscript is easy to change. It seeks ancient books and tests many books in order to keep up with the times. The picture books all imitate the painting method of Nanjing, a precious cultural relic. The pretentious appearance and lofty brushwork exhausted the efforts of the Song family.

In addition, Song Daren also selected 24 representatives from the Zhou Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty. You, Hua Tuo, Zhang Zhongjing, Huangfu Mi, Ge Hong, Tao Hongjing, Chao, Sun Simiao, Wang Dao, Liu, Zhang He Zi, Li Dongyuan, Zhu Danxi, Li Shizhen, Zhang Jingyue, Wang Kentang, Wu Youke, Ye Tianshi, Wang Qingren and Wu Shangxian. Use traditional Chinese painting meticulous method and render with perspective color; Attached are biographies of each person, indicating the source of the portrait, entitled "Portrait of China's Great Physician". Song Daren, Li Dinglong, Ge and Xu Lian painted together, and invited historians, archaeologists, artists and doctors such as Xu Senyu, Huang, Wang Shengyuan, Guo Ruoyu, Shu Shifu, Jiang Weiqiao, Yin Shigong, Xie, Ye, Geng Jianting and Zhang Zanchen to discuss and review the subscription.

1955 In March, the first edition of China Photo Agency of Shanghai University printed 4000 sets, the last edition printed 1000 sets, the new edition printed 2000 sets in February, 1959, and the second edition printed 2000 sets in June, 1963, totaling.

Nearly half a century has passed, and most of the famous scholars who participated in this group of portraits have died. Mr. Li Dinglong, who was awarded the honorary title of "International Master of Art" by 1999 International Artists Federation, also passed away not long ago, which shows that the artistic, academic and historical value of "The Portrait of Doctor China" is precious.

1982 at the invitation of the dean, Song Daren was transferred to Guangzhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a professor, consultant of the Medical History Museum and director of the Medical History Cultural Relics Research Office, and donated a large number of precious cultural relics. 1985 February 15 won China.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the NLD's engagement in culture, education, science and technology, the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the NLD issued a commendation certificate in recognition of its contribution to the prosperity of the motherland. This is the last and highest honor in Mr. Song Daren's life journey.
