In 8 1 AD, Emperor Titus first built the Arc de Triomphe in the southeast corner of Rome Square to commemorate the "victory" in suppressing the Jewish uprising. The shape of the Arc de Triomphe is relatively simple, taking the form of a single arch, with inclined columns on both sides of the door and a top cabinet on the short wall. The Arc de Triomphe is15.5m high,13.4m wide and 4.8m thick. As a whole, it looks solemn and beautiful, and is recognized as the most classical building by architects. In particular, its sculpture is extremely exquisite, which is one of the three masterpieces of classical relief art in Rome and is regarded as a national treasure by Italians.
114 ~115 years, Emperor Trajan built another Arc de Triomphe to commemorate his victory over others. The sculpture on the Arc de Triomphe in Trajan not only depicts the scenes of various wars, but also builds a gilded bronze statue of the emperor riding the Triumph chariot at the top. Compared with the Arc de Triomphe of Titus, the Arc de Triomphe of Trajan is luxurious enough. The Arc de Triomphe built during the reign of Constantine the Great in the first half of the 4th century was even more luxurious than the Arc de Triomphe in1~ 2nd century.
The Arc de Triomphe reflects the Roman mentality of showing off the conqueror's force and power, and shows the superb architectural art of Rome from a special level.
