Yuanping County was established in the third year of Ding Yuan in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 1 14), belonging to Taiyuan County, and moved to Yunzhong County in the fifteenth year of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, belonging to a new county. In the eighteenth year of Jian 'an, Yuanping County was restored, belonging to Yanmen County. During the Three Kingdoms period, it was Yanmen County in Yuanping County.
Yongjia fell at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty (overseas Chinese settled in Guoyangcheng today-see the introduction of Yang Guo Town). During the Anti-Japanese War, Hun County was divided into Dongxi County according to Taitong (Taiyuan-Datong) Highway, and 1946 was merged into Hun County.
From liberation to 1958 to 65438+February, the people's government moved the county to govern Yuanping and renamed it Yuanping county.
1On June 7, 993, the Shanxi Provincial People's Government reported to the State Council for approval to withdraw the county and set up a city, which was called Yuanping City (the province is directly under the jurisdiction of Xinzhou City).
