How to make children love history
Let children read more books and form the habit of reading from an early age. This concept seems to have become the consensus of today's educational circles. Parents and schools, including education experts, are talking about the importance of reading for children's study. Actually, this is not a very new concept. When we were in school a few years ago, the teacher often told us, "We should read more extracurricular books and accumulate more, so that our Chinese scores can be improved and our writing will not be speechless."

Accumulation, what a key word. I think the position of these two words in our hearts is self-evident.

The best way to accumulate is to start from an early age, right? So our children, from grade one or grade two, we hope they will start to develop the habit of reading. At first, we will buy many books for children to read. This is usually the case. But after buying the book, did the children start reading? We bought all the books on the "book list" from the internet and through various channels. What was the effect? Some children really began to develop the habit of reading, and most of them "stayed away from books". Why? What caused the difference between the two?

The reason should be obvious. If children find pleasure in reading and like the books you choose for them, then they will naturally read them. The best situation is that he reads one book after another, fast or slow, from shallow to deep. Where does the fun come from? My experience tells me that if he understands and his parents praise him properly, he will have fun. He gained knowledge from it, so he felt happy.

Reading is the key.

So choosing books is also very important. Choose a book suitable for children's knowledge structure. But that is not the point. I think the most important thing is that parents should accompany their children to read the books you choose and often communicate with them. Start with a simple question and answer, and then you can discuss it in depth and draw inferences. And at the right time, give children appropriate praise and rewards. Material rewards can also be used. In this way, children's interest in reading is gradually cultivated.

My children like reading history books. History is a very popular category now, and a large number of books about history have been published in recent years. Personally, I think history is quite suitable for children in primary school.

Chinese is accumulated. But the knowledge of Chinese is as complicated as the leaves in the mountains. How can we learn and accumulate? Shall we pick some today, pick some tomorrow and pile them up into a hill? Is this accumulation effective? I think this accumulation effect is very poor. When we need some specific knowledge, we may not find it for a while.

How to accumulate?

As mentioned above, "Chinese studies" are like leaves in the mountains. If I want to draw this mountain forest now, the best way is to raise the height and look down from the sky. From god's point of view. In this case, the whole mountain forest will be unobstructed. I draw its general framework first, then slowly draw some big trees, big stones, waterfalls and lake flows, then add beautiful flowers to the details, and add leaves and grass to the details. ...

So what is the framework of "China Knowledge"? I think history is a good framework. First, build a historical framework, and other things can be filled into this big framework of past history, and they can also establish links between them. In this way, all knowledge can establish a logical relationship between time and space.

For example. We read Li Bai's poems. If we know the history of the Tang Dynasty, we can know the whole life experience of Li Bai and the ups and downs in his life. Will reading Li Bai's poems in this way lead to a deeper and more accurate understanding? When Li Bai was invited out of the mountain by Emperor Ming of Tang Dynasty, he said, "Are we Artemisia people?" Can you understand Li Bai's high morale and lofty aspirations at the moment? Later, "the son of heaven didn't get on the boat and claimed to be Brewmaster", which was so elegant. How lonely and frustrated Li Bai was when Gao Lishi and Yang were in power! "An Shi Rebellion" suddenly struck, and Li Bai stood in the wrong team and was exiled to Yelang. The evening scene is bleak, how sad it is. "A cloud rose between the light in the sky and me, hiding his city in my melancholy heart". Why can't you see that Chang 'an will be so miserable? Knowing history will naturally understand Li Bai's pain.

History can help us better understand Li Bai's poems, and conversely, Li Bai's poems can also help us better understand that period of history, or enrich that period of history and make it three-dimensional in our minds?

If we read Li Bai's ten poems, we can understand every capital in all stages of Li Bai's life. Then not only understand the connotation of each poem, but also understand the relationship between poems, and the whole accumulation process will be three-dimensional, instead of simply piling up ten poems. Let's read Du Fu's poems again. Let's compare Li Bai and Du Fu. What are the differences and connections between their times? Why Li Bai is always so romantic, why Du Fu is always so realistic and so sad. Petals fall like tears, and lonely birds sing their sorrows. What did Du Fu experience? Always so sad.

Maybe you will say, we know that history is very important and useful. But history is so boring and magnificent, is it too difficult for a child?

First, the problem of boring history, and then the problem of "learning history is difficult". Let's discuss these two issues one by one.

The boring problem of history should not be a problem now. In recent years, many history books have been published, which are very interesting and reflect the trend of people-friendly history. History is well written, such as "Those Things in the Ming Dynasty", which sold five or six million copies. If it weren't for fun, would books with history sell so well? The history of every dynasty and generation is written in this way, which is a trend.

Let's talk about the problem of "learning history is difficult", which is the main problem to be discussed in this paper. Is it really difficult for a child to learn history? How to learn, how to start learning and what kind of books to choose? I'm not an expert, so I can't talk about this problem from a height. I just want to share my own experience of reading with my children. I hope this sharing can bring you some reference. It would be my great honor if I could give you and your children even a little help in their studies. All right, cut the crap and get to the point. I recommend some books to you directly.

First of all, the simplest and most interesting. Children's Interesting Illustration: Five Thousand Years in China, published by Coal Industry Press, 4 volumes in total.

Five Thousand Years Up and Down is a classic collection of historical stories. Every story is independent, so it is not long and easy to understand. And this version is designed for children, illustrated and cartoonized, which is easy for children to accept. Children love listening to stories and reading stories, so as long as parents guide them well, they will reward or punish them through various means. The so-called combination of kindness and prestige, the golden dollar stick, haha, there are often these in history. I think you can understand what I said. Accompany the children to read these four children's books. Children had better be conscious. If not, parents can think of various ways to "force" their children to finish reading. The words used here are all very heavy. I don't think this is difficult myself. This book is very good. After learning this 5,000-year children's edition, children can have a general understanding of some people and events in history. I will gradually become interested in history. In particular, parents give their children some praise and rewards appropriately, and the effect is more prominent. My child read this set of books when he was a freshman, and then he began to like history. Maybe your children will be interested in history from now on. it wont hurt you to try it

Strictly speaking, Five Thousand Years Up and Down is just a story book. Although it is a historical story, it does not reflect the historical context. The stories are independent of each other. There is no connection between the story and the characters in the book. So strictly speaking, this is not a history book, but I think it is a good introductory book because it is simple enough.

Then recommend a history book, Children's History of China, with a total of 14 volumes. This is written by Chen Weiping, Taiwan Province Province, and published by New World Publishing House. This set of books is of good printing quality, illustrated, simple but rigorous, and it is a very good history of children. Highly recommended.

After reading these two sets of children's history books, you will enter the door of history. Then you can read some books with more words and deeper depth. There are many books on the market. But I want to remind parents that when choosing these books, they must choose first and read first. You think you can read it to your child and then read it to him. Parents filter by themselves first. One is that you know the child's knowledge structure best, and you have a certain understanding of the child's understanding ability. Don't choose the difficult ones, choose the interesting ones. The other is that books are published in a mixed bag. Some books are incorrect and not suitable for children, so we must distinguish them carefully.

A minimalist history of Qing dynasty that you can't put down.

Those things in the Ming dynasty

This is the history of Song Dynasty.

A Brief History of Tang Dynasty and Biography of Wu Zetian

These books are really a dime a dozen. You can choose what your children like. It's okay to watch too much, right?

I wish my children progress in their studies and love history. Thank you all.
