Yiyang is located in the north of Hunan Province, with the longest distance from east to west of 2 17km and the widest distance from north to south of 173km. " Lu Su led Cheng Pu and Gan Ning to stay in Guishan, southeast of the city, and made an appointment with Guan Yu at the Xikou of Lujiashan. This date is a famous "one-knife meeting" for centuries. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Hunan belonged to the State of Chu. Hou Liang (AD 479) Yiyang belongs to Tanzhou. At the end of the Tang Dynasty (AD 923), Ma Yin was the State of Chu and Yiyang belonged to Changsha. In the later Zhou Dynasty (AD 95 1 ~ 959), Yiyang belonged to Tanzhou County.

On June 28th, 20 12, Donghua Company of Shandong Yankuang Group invested 7.5 billion yuan in the cultural tourism project of "Jiangnan Ancient City" and held a signing ceremony in Yiyang. This is the largest tourism real estate project introduced by Yiyang City so far. The "Jiangnan Ancient City" will be built in the "two-oriented society" demonstration area of Fish-shaped Mountain in the new east area of Yiyang, which is a "city" integrating architectural art, folk customs, characteristic culture, traditional customs and local specialties, with a total land area of 3,500 mu.
