During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Meishan culture made many achievements. In the Yuan Dynasty, Su San Temple was built in the former residence of Su Jia in Shaxing, rebuilt in Hongwu in Ming Dynasty and in Kangxi in Qing Dynasty. In the first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1662), it was known that Zhao Huiya sent people to Baixia to buy books and hid them in Meishan Academy. Drama activities were very popular in Qing dynasty, and professional and amateur folk drama organizations were spread all over urban and rural areas. Jian Huang, a playwright of Sichuan Opera, is famous all over the country for his rich creative achievements. Meishan is famous for its "beautiful mountains, clear water and not deep". Historical celebrities appreciate it and linger between beautiful mountains and rivers. Lu You, a great poet, also gave birth to the nostalgia of "winding back to the mountains". Since the Yuan Dynasty, Susan Temple has been changed from a house to a shrine, covering an area of 56,800 square meters. It is the only shrine in China to commemorate Su San, and it has also become a scenic spot for literati. Thousands of tourists from China and foreign countries visit this shrine every year, making Susan's hometown famous at home and abroad.
