The Historical Evolution of Shuixi Town
Named after the end of the resident water stream, there is a stream that flows from the northwest hills to the southeast and joins the Yuanhe River. Shuixi is located in the west of the stream, hence its name. On the eve of liberation, Yuanhe belongs to Tangxia Township in Jin Yang District to the south, Shuixi Township in Luofang District to the east and Taihe Township in the city to the west. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Sharpay District. 1954 established Shuixi District, 1956 changed to commune, 1984 changed to township, and 1988 changed to town. 1997, with an area of 135.3 square kilometers and a population of 53,000, governs Baishuitang, Yanjiadu, Tonglin, Shuixi, Shapi, Tanyu, Xiadang, Wuxing, Qiaokou, Jiangjia, Beitou, Hehu, Jiashan, Ji 'an. The town government is located at the end of Shuixi, which is 0/0 km away from the district government/kloc. At the end of 2003, Mahong Township was revoked and placed under Shuixi Town; Dongxiang was abolished, and some administrative areas were transferred to Shuixi Town. Fumahong Township is located in the north of Yushui District. The territory is low in southeast and high in northwest. It belongs to hilly areas with red borders and is connected by highways. 1956 established mahong township, and later changed to commune, 1983 changed to township. 1997, with an area of 92 square kilometers and a population of 25,000, governs Mahong, Baishaqiao, Nanling, Shangjiang, Duijia, Huotian, Qiaoshang, Zhangjia, Naikou, Neitang, Shannan, Wang Jia, Dongxiang, Kubei and Guihua 15 administrative villages. The township government is located in Hong Bei Village, 22km away from the district government. At the end of 2003, Mahong Township was revoked and placed under Shuixi Town. Fudong Town is located in the southeast of Yushui District. 1950 established Dongxiang, 1958 changed the east brigade of Luofang commune, 1959 changed its name to the east branch of Nanying Reclamation Farm, 1962 re-established the east commune, and 1984 changed its township. 1997, with an area of 6 1 km2 and a population of 7,000, governs five administrative villages, namely, Dongbian, Zhang Cun, Yamada, Gongtang and Tantan. The township government is located in Zhong You, 30 kilometers away from the district government. At the end of 2003, Dongbian Township was abolished and placed under the jurisdiction of luofang town and Shuixi Town respectively.
