Ankang College was formerly known as Ankang University and Ankang Teachers College. 1958 In the winter, Ankang College, the first full-time public university, was born in the wave of the Great Leap Forward.

1963, due to national economic difficulties, Ankang College was closed.

1978 In May, with the consent of Shaanxi Higher Education Bureau, Ankang began to prepare for the establishment of Ankang professional course in Shaanxi Normal University, and enrolled students in the same year.

1June, 1984, with the approval of the provincial government, it was officially renamed Ankang Teachers College. In May 2004, the former Shaanxi Ankang Agricultural School and Ankang Education College merged into Ankang Normal College.

In February 2006, the Ministry of Education issued a document agreeing that Ankang Teachers College should be transformed into Ankang College.

On April 20 14, the qualification assessment of undergraduate teaching in the Ministry of Education was successfully completed.
