There were traces of human activities in Jinan as early as 89000 years ago in the early Neolithic period. About seven or eight sites were discovered during this period, including four in Jinan and four in Zhangqiu.
During the Dawenkou Cultural Period (6 100 ~ 4600 years ago), ancestors from all over the world migrated frequently in Jinan, leaving a large number of sites, including Wang Guan in Zhangqiu, Jiaojia and Daliuxing in Changqing.
Yue culture (3900 ~ 3500 years ago) is a Yi culture developed in Shandong after Longshan culture. Dozens of sites in this period have been found in Jinan, especially in Zhangqiu county, and Chengziya site is still the most important site in this period.
