Xuanhua, Hebei Province, known as the land of "deep well and flat Han", became Shanggu County as early as the Qin Dynasty, one of the nine famous towns of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, and one of the 72 prefectures in the Qing Dynasty. Now it is a famous historical and cultural city in Hebei Province. 1982 was listed as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit, and 1992 was announced as a historical and cultural city by the people's government of Hebei Province.
Xuanhua Ancient City was built in the Tang Dynasty with a history of 1260 years. It is one of the most important ancient cities in northern China and an important part of the Great Wall culture. It belongs to the national key cultural relics protection unit. There is a plaque inscribed by Gan Qing Tommy Tam, which is one of the landmark buildings of the ancient city.
