The Historical Connotation of Ziyang Lake
For thousands of years, Ziyang Lake has nurtured not only the people, but also the spirit of being the first in the world. 1911June 10 The Wuchang Uprising, which shocked China and foreign countries, fired the first shot at the Eighth Battalion of Hubei New Army Project (now the location of Hubei Federation of Trade Unions) on Ziyang Lake, thus igniting the revolutionary flames all over the country and ending the feudal autocracy in China for more than 2,000 years. There is now a monument in the former site of the engineering camp, which is more than 4 meters high and has a rifle sculpture on it. "Difficulties in the Development of Wuchang Uprising Project in 1911" 12 Chinese characters are engraved on the front, and 90-angle 18 stars and stripes are engraved on both sides. The inscription inscribed on it describes the trouble-making process of the engineering camp, and a memorial pavilion is built 20 meters away from here. There are Chuwangtai Armory and Zhonghemen (July 1 Gate) in the southeast of the lake, which have been praised by historians as "the beginning of the victory of Shouyi" since the Yuan Dynasty. To the west of Ziyang Lake, along the remaining historical names, namely Baoanmen Main Street and Wangfukou, you can find the site of Huguang Governor's Office. The first meaning is to capture this place. Today, this is Wuchang Shipyard, which produces military ships. Even if a person's imagination is rich, I'm afraid he won't think that this is the political center that commanded the two lakes a century ago. How vicissitudes! Fold one or two miles from Ziyang Lake to the north, which is the Red Mansion next to Snake Mountain. Hubei Consultation Bureau was established by 19 10. The next morning after the first success, revolutionaries came here to set up the Hubei army governor's office, officially announcing the abolition of the title of Manchu and the establishment of the Republic of China. "Guishan is green, the rivers and seas are wide, and the martyrs die without regret." In the northwest corner of Ziyang Lake, there is a victory pavilion, in which stands the National Day Monument of the Republic of China Uprising. Crossing Ziyang Road, not far from the diagonally opposite side of the lake, there is a martyrs' shrine to commemorate those martyrs who died for their country.
