Faang (old:? Fangum1316-1393), the founding king of Lancang Kingdom, reigned from 1353 to 1373. The country name is "Lancang Hongkao". 1359, Buddhism was introduced as the state religion by the Khmer people at the request of the Khmer Empress who sincerely believed in Southern Buddhism. Faang takes Vientiane as its religious center and Luang Prabang as its administrative center. Its Khmer queen died of plague while resisting Mongolian invasion. Faang established diplomatic relations with Annan and Siam, and/kloc-0 married Princess Ayutthaya in 368. 1373, Faang was expelled from the nobility of Lancang Kingdom and succeeded by his son Sang Tai Sen. It is said that she was expelled because the queen was cruel and sent troops to Khmer after her death. 1393 died in Fu Nan, Siam.
