Jingdezhen rose in the Northern Song Dynasty.

In the Northern Song Dynasty, Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province was famous for producing blue and white porcelain, which was sold at home and abroad, and Jingdezhen began to rise. In the Southern Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, Jingdezhen became a famous porcelain-making center in China. By the Northern Song Dynasty, the level of porcelain making had greatly surpassed that of the previous generation. Ding kiln, Ru kiln, Ge kiln, Guan kiln and Jun kiln were the five famous porcelain kilns at that time. Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province is famous for producing blue and white porcelain, and its products are exported at home and abroad.

During the period of Jingdezhen in Zhao Heng in the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed "Jingdezhen" and has been in use for more than 900 years. 1953, designated as a municipality directly under the Central Government of Jiangxi Province. For Jingdezhen, Song is a dynasty with special significance. Before the Song Dynasty, Jingdezhen had several names: Xinping Town, Changnan Town and Yangtao Town.

In the Song Dynasty, there were many famous kilns in the north and south, including Ru kiln, Guan kiln, Ge kiln, Jun kiln and Ding kiln. At that time, Jingdezhen porcelain production also entered a brand-new period, and celadon (ying porcelain) in the late Tang and Five Dynasties had reached a considerable scale and became a representative production area in the country. The porcelain painted here is "filled with clay, thin and greasy, and moist in color".

Emperor Zhao Heng sent people to Jingdezhen to make imperial porcelain for the royal family during the reign of Zhenzong Jingdezhen (A.D. 1004- 1007), and wrote the words "Jingdezhen Year System" at the end. Because "although its wares were beautiful, they were used in the sea at that time, so the name of Jingdezhen porcelain is salty in the world, and the name of Changnan is small." Since then, it has been called "Jingdezhen", and its name has been used for nearly a thousand years.

Climatic characteristics of Jingdezhen;

Jingdezhen has a subtropical monsoon climate with abundant sunshine and rainfall, mild and humid, and distinct four seasons. According to the latest meteorological data of1981-2010, the annual average temperature of Jingdezhen is 17.8℃, the annual average rainfall is 1805 mm, and the extreme maximum temperature since meteorological records.

The climate in Jingdezhen is changeable in spring, sometimes cold and sometimes warm. At the turn of spring and summer, cold and warm air currents often meet in the territory, with continuous rain. In the rainy season before summer, the rainfall is concentrated, and the rainstorm is frequent. The average annual precipitation in May, June and July is 200 ~ 350 mm, which is easy to cause floods. After plum blossom, it is mostly controlled by subtropical high. The weather is hot and the humidity is high, which makes people feel sultry.
