An overview of traditional festivals of she nationality.
She nationality is one of the typical scattered and mixed nationalities in China. They call themselves "shanha". But this name is not recorded in the history books. In the Tang Dynasty, the ethnic minorities living in the border areas of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, including the ancestors of She nationality, were generally called "Man", "Man Liao", "Man Dong" or "East Liao". At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, ethnic names of "She" and "Boxing" began to appear in history books. "She" means slash and burn. After liberation, it was renamed "She nationality". According to the statistics of the fifth national census in 2000, the population of She nationality was 709,592. She people use the She language, which belongs to the Miao and Yao language family of Sino-Tibetan language family. 99% of the She people speak Chinese Hakka, but they are slightly different from Hakka in pronunciation, and a few words are completely different from Hakka. No mandarin, common Chinese. There is only one She Autonomous County in China, which is located in the mountainous area of southern Zhejiang. The She nationality in Jingning originated in the second year of Tang Yongtai (766) and settled in Jingning when it moved from Fujian to southwest Zhejiang, with a history of 1200 years. Therefore, Jingning is also called Shexiang, China.
