Wood structure is nothing new. China has maintained the tradition of building houses with wood for thousands of years. Wood structure architecture is not only the main form of traditional architecture in China, but also has a very long history in China, which can be traced back to the thatched cottage built with wooden columns and thatch in Yangshao culture period in Banpo, Xi 'an. In the subsequent dynasties, many ancient buildings, such as wooden pagodas and temples, also adopted wooden structures. Among them, many buildings have experienced thousands of years of historical evolution and have been handed down to this day, becoming masterpieces of ancient architecture in China and witnesses of ancient exquisite architectural technology. However, with the passage of time, the traditional wooden buildings in China are gradually replaced by a large number of reinforced concrete buildings, which occupy a dominant position in the building, and the wooden buildings have almost disappeared and become a rare thing. Today, the low-carbon development of architecture and cities is advocated, and the wood structure with great potential has returned to our eyes again. According to statistics, in developed countries, 70% of houses are light wood structures, and in North America, the proportion is as high as 90%. Wood structure has always been dominant in ancient China. Civil engineering is synonymous with architecture. For a large building like the Forbidden City, the main structure is made of wood, and bricks and tiles are only accessories. The advantages of wood structure are being re-recognized by modern people: from the perspective of environmental protection, it is a renewable material. As a building material, it has little impact on the environment from production to abandonment. Although it is difficult to produce in large quantities quickly in the short term, in the long run, wood resources are inexhaustible.
