Xuancheng City, located in the southeast of Anhui Province, is located at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. It was a historical county in ancient times and is now a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province. Xuancheng has a long history and was called Wanling and Xuanzhou in ancient times. Historically, it was under the jurisdiction of Danyang County, Xuanzhou County, Ningguofu County and Xuancheng County, and it is the political, economic and cultural center of southeast Anhui. At present, Xuancheng has six counties in 1 district (including 1 county-level city), and one of these six counties is particularly special. Its name is Monogram, which was once a state in history. Jingxian County, located in the west of Xuancheng City, is a prefecture-level county under the jurisdiction of Xuancheng City. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was the land of Wu Yue Chu. After the Qin Dynasty destroyed Chu in 223 BC, Jingxian County returned to Chu. It is unknown when Jingxian county was established, but according to historical records, it can be determined that it was established in the early years of the Qin Dynasty or the Western Han Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,200 years. In the Western Han Dynasty, Jingxian County was successively subordinate to Zhangxian County and Danyang County, and Danyang County was renamed Zhangxian County. Jingxian county has been inherited since it was built. Historically, there have been Du County, Danyang County, Xuancheng County, Xuanzhou County, Ningguofu and other places. Jingxian county has never been ruled by counties, but in the early Tang Dynasty, South Xuzhou and Yizhou were established in Jingxian county, which was also considered as a state in history. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Jingxian County was subordinate to Xuancheng District, the southern administrative region of Anhui Province. After the establishment of Anhui Province, 1952 belongs to Wuhu District, 1966 belongs to Xuancheng District, and 1980 belongs to Xuancheng District. In 2000, Xuancheng District was established as a prefecture-level Xuancheng City, and Jingxian County was subordinate to it.
