What is the custom of Miao wedding?
Miao nationality is a multi-ethnic group with a long history, wide distribution, colorful culture and a rebellious spirit. There are more than120 million Miao people in the world, including more than 9 million in China. It can be said that from the capital Beijing to the southwest border of the motherland, from the east coast of the Pacific Ocean to the west coast, from Asia to all continents in the world, there are footprints and figures of Miao people living and working everywhere.

Chuxiong, Yunnan and other places have a "girl room" system to choose a good couple. There are also parents who arrange marriages, usually through relatives and friends. Miao women have the custom of "staying at home" after marriage, especially in Qiandongnan, which still has reservations. In some areas, Miao people also have customs such as "returning girls", "changing houses" and "marrying wives and sisters". About 250,000 Miao people live in the southwest of Guizhou Province. Their wedding customs and etiquette are warm, solemn, humorous, full of romance and mystery, which can be described as unique.

Although the traditional marriage customs of Miao people in the three dialect areas are basically the same, they have different characteristics. Generally speaking, all normal and complete marriages require marriage proposal, engagement, urging marriage, giving gifts, receiving marriage, seeing off relatives, getting started, visiting the church, returning to the door and other ceremonies, many of which require etiquette.
