The death of Taoist priest is the most famous unjust case in Ming Dynasty.
Tao Tong was a famous official in the history of Ming Dynasty in China. He was loyal to Zhu Yuanzhang at the beginning of his rule. However, Tao Tong later offended Panyu's powerful county magistrate. In a rage, the dignitaries took Tao Tong to court. It happened that Tao Tong offended Zhu Yuanzhang's confidant at that time, Yongjia Hou Zhu Liangzu. Zhu Liangzu spoke ill of Tao Tong in front of Zhu Yuanzhang and framed big officials. Zhu Yuanzhang died of Tao Tong in a rage.

Tao Tong, a native of Cangzhou, Hebei Province, was the top scholar during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. In the thirteenth year of Hongwu, he was recommended as the secretary of Taichang Temple by the assistant minister of Libu at that time. Later, he became the county magistrate of Panyu. During his tenure, he was conscientious, not afraid of powerful people and strictly enforced the law. It is precisely because of this feature that he offended Yongjia Hou Zhu Liangzu in the twelfth year of Hongwu. Zhu Liangzu hated Tao Tong very much and often framed Tao Tong in front of Zhu Yuanzhang. Once, he even said that he was collaborating with the enemy. The furious Zhu Yuanzhang arrested Dao Tong and killed him, and even his family was exiled.

Fortunately, the orthodox story of the Ming Dynasty has a good ending. When Hongwu 14 years old, Zhu Yuanzhang finally understood what he had done. He thought he had wronged a good man, so he called Zhu Liangzu back and questioned the incident in detail. As a result, Zhu Liangzu made mischief in the middle. In a rage, he killed Liang Zhu's grandfather with a whip. Even those local tyrants and bullies in Panyu county were killed, and Daotong was finally rehabilitated. Tao Tong had a high position in Ming and Qing Dynasties. After his death, the people of Panyu County mourned for it. Some people even sacrificed Tao Tong at home, but asking Tao Tong will always come true. Therefore, some local people in Panyu said that he became an immortal after his death and protected the people of the immortal class.

Historical similarity

Historically, Daotong was a descendant of the Mongols. After Kublai Khan established the Yuan Dynasty, many Mongolians came to the Central Plains from the grassland. Tao's ancestors came to Zhili from the grassland and settled in Hejian. After the collapse of the Yuan Dynasty, many Mongolians fled back to the grassland. However, Daotong's father did not return to the grassland, so Daotong has been living in the Central Plains.

Tao later became the magistrate of Panyu. Before orthodoxy, the former magistrate of a county extorted money in the local area, which aroused the resentment of the local people. After Dao came to power, he reorganized local bureaucrats and cracked down on local tyrants, making them Taiping County.

In history, Tao is most famous for not being afraid of power. In Panyu, Guangdong, Yongjia Hou Zhu Liangzu is a local tyrant. He was a member of Zhu Yuanzhang's family and ruled the country by imperial power. Zhu Liangzu's in-laws are wealthy businessmen who have killed people in the local area. Tao Tong executed the wealthy businessman according to law. Despite Zhu Liangzu's threat, Daotong still enforced the law impartially.

Although Taoism in history is an honest official, its fate is not good. Yongjia Hou Zhu Liangzu falsely accused Daotong to Zhu Yuanzhang, who ordered Daotong to be executed and sent messengers to Panyu. Master Tao went to Beijing to visit Zhu Yuanzhang and told the story of Tao Tong's achievements.

Zhu Yuanzhang is famous for being an honest official, while Zhu Liangzu is a bully. Zhu Yuanzhang sent messengers to Panyu to cancel the order to execute Dao Tong. But when the messenger arrived in Panyu, the messenger who ordered the execution of Daotong had arrived in Panyu and Daotong was executed. Zhu Yuanzhang had to know that after being killed, he ordered the arrest of Zhu Liang's grandfather and son, put them to death on the spot, and killed a group of local bullies in Panyu. Tao was an honest official in history, but he was falsely accused by power and died.

Tao's death

The death of Taoism is the most famous unjust case in the early Ming Dynasty. Daotong is a descendant of Mongols. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, he served as the magistrate of Panyu, Guangdong. In the third year of Hongwu, he was recommended as the mayor of Taichang Temple and appointed as the county magistrate of Panyu. After working there for more than ten years, some rich local children were touched by strict law enforcement.

It's a pity that all the rich families he offended have court backgrounds. A distant relative of this rich family whom he offended was Zhu Liangzu of Yongjiahou at that time. Zhu Liangzu was a man who accompanied Zhu Yuanzhang to conquer the world in his early years. He is very successful and very popular with Zhu Yuanzhang. When Zhu Yuanzhang seized the world, he also made Zhu Liangzu the Grand Marquis, so Zhu Liangzu was the overlord of the right-wing party. Tao Tong offended Zhu Liangzu, so naturally there was no good fruit to eat. because

At first, he defended himself, but later Yongjia Hou Zhu Liangzu was very angry with this man. He often speaks ill of Tao Tong in front of Zhu Yuanzhang, accusing Tao Tong of colluding with foreign criminals and even rebelling against the Ming Dynasty. In a rage, Zhu Yuanzhang sentenced Tao Tong to death, but after Tao Tong was sentenced to death, Zhu Yuanzhang called Zhu Liangzu back, asked him the truth, and then beat Liang Zhu's grandfather to death with a whip to rehabilitate Tao. To sum up, the death of Taoism is regrettable and the biggest injustice of the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Yuanzhang killed a generation of honest officials because he listened to the treacherous court official, but fortunately Zhu Yuanzhang didn't get confused at last, and handed over the death of orthodoxy to the treacherous court official and disposed of it.
