The main religion in Latin America is Catholicism.

Catholicism is one of the three major Christian sects, also known as Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Church. Catholicism is spread all over the world, and its clergy practice celibacy. Each order has formed its own isolation system and a hierarchical teaching system.

Usually we habitually divide the history of the church into three stages:

1. Ancient Church: From the Lord Jesus Christ to the Father, Pope I (from the Lord Jesus Christ to 590 AD: 1- 6th century AD) gave a speech on the spread, persecution and conversion of the church in the Roman Empire.

2. The Church in the Middle Ages: 590-15 17, mainly covering the Germanic invasion, the spread of Christianity in Europe, the separation of church and state, 1054, the great split between East and West, and issues related to the papacy.

Third, the modern church: from 15 17 to the present, it appeared (16-2 1 century), the reform within the church, and the spread of the church in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Extended data:

Latin America faces the Atlantic Ocean in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the west, with a total length of 1 1000 kilometers. The widest point from east to west is 5100km, and the narrowest point is the isthmus of Panama, which is only 48km wide. There are Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea in the north. It covers an area of 20.7 million square kilometers.

As far as the language of the residents is concerned, Spanish is dominant (Portuguese in Brazil and French in Haiti). Because this region belongs to the Latin family (Romans family), many countries south of the United States are called Latin American countries, and this region is called Latin America.
