The climate of Quanzhou

Quanzhou is located in low latitude, facing the ocean in the east, and belongs to subtropical maritime monsoon climate, with superior climatic conditions and abundant climatic resources. Quanzhou's climate has three basic characteristics:

First, the temperature is high and the light and heat are rich. The annual total solar radiation is 1.20- 1.40 kcal/cm2, and the annual average temperature in most areas is 1.5-2 1.0℃ (only the northwest mountainous area is lower than 1.8℃). The average temperature in the hottest month is 26-29℃, and it is also 9-0℃ in Leng Yue. The frost-free period is long throughout the year, and the coastal areas are basically frost-free. The effective accumulated temperature ≥ 10℃ is 56 10-7250℃. The annual sunshine hours are 1800-2200 hours.

Second, precipitation is abundant, but it is unevenly distributed in time and space. The annual precipitation of the whole city is 1000- 1800 mm, increasing from southeast to northwest, and the inland area is about twice that of the coastal area. The wet and dry seasons are very clear: the precipitation from March to September accounts for 80% of the whole year, which is the rainy season; 10-February only accounts for 20% of the whole year, belonging to the dry season. The interannual variation rate of precipitation is large, and the precipitation in less rainy years is less than half of that in rainy years.

Third, the monsoon climate is remarkable. The winter half year is mainly controlled by Mongolian cold high pressure wedge, with prevailing northerly wind, low temperature and little rain; Summer is mainly affected by subtropical high, prevailing southerly wind, high temperature, humidity and rain.
