During the Spring and Autumn Period, it was the residence of Wushi Rong, and during the Warring States Period and the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Wushi County, Beidi County. The Han dynasty inherited the Qin system, and when Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was in Wushi County and Anding County.
Dulu County, Anding County, Yongzhou in the Western Jin Dynasty and Jingyang County, Longdong County, Yongzhou in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. In Sui Dynasty, Jinghe belonged to Huating County, Anding County. Anhua County was established in Song Dynasty, belonging to Weizhou (now Pingliang).
In the seventh year of Jin Dading (1 167), Anhua County was changed to Huaping County, which belonged to Pingliang Prefecture. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, Ping County was abandoned and returned to Huating County, belonging to Pingliang area of Shaanxi Province.
Ming belongs to Pingliang Prefecture of Shaanxi Province.
In the early Qing dynasty, the Ming system was hit. During the decade of Tongzhi (187 1), Pingliang, Guyuan, Huating and Longde were zoned, and the local indigenous Han people were removed. More than 9,480 Hui people in the Shaanxi-Gansu Hui uprising settled here, and Pingzhi Auditorium was set up, which belongs to Pingqing Road.
When Zhili Hall was established in Pingchuan in the late Qing Dynasty, it governed 66 villages in Hualin (now Xiangshui Town and Zi Yuan Township), Xiangshui (now back to Taitai Township and Huanghua Township), Yu Sheng (now Sheng Xing Township) and Baimian (now Baimian Town and Dongxia Township).
In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), Pingzhi Auditorium was changed to Huaping County, and the county name was restored more than 900 years ago. It belongs to Jingyuan Road in Gansu, and later to Longdong Special Zone. In the third year (19 14), five districts of east, west, south, north and middle were established. Nine years (1920) is 4 Li. In the sixteenth year (1927), the original 4-mile was changed to 4-district with the same name. In the twenty-five years (1936), the original four districts were changed to 1 Town (Hualin Town) and Sanxiang (Xiangshui, Jingyuan and Baimian). Later changed to Huanghua, Jingbei and Jingnan. In the 28th year (1939), the three districts merged into the second district, the former Linli and Xiangshuili districts merged into one district, and the former Shengyuli and Baimianli districts merged into the second district. In thirty years (194 1), the second district was changed into six townships, namely Mianquan (now Xiangshui Town), Chongyi (now Huanghua Township), Jiahui (now back to Taitai Township), Yu Sheng (now Sheng Xing Township), Baimian (now Baimian Town) and Jingyuan (now Dongxia Township). In the thirty-first year (1942), Liuxiang was changed to Bai Quan, Jingnan 2, Jingbei and Huanghua 2, with a total jurisdiction of 27 Bao and 254A.
1August, 949, Jingyuan County was liberated.
In 1949, Jingyuan County was divided into four districts, namely, Jingnan, Jingbei, Bai Quan and Huanghua, with 16 townships under its jurisdiction.
1May, 950, changed to Jingyuan County, belonging to Pingliang District.
1953 implemented the policy of regional ethnic autonomy and changed it to Jingyuan Hui Autonomous Region.
1May, 955, renamed Jingyuan Hui Autonomous County. In winter, three districts were abolished, and four townships, Shuang Ying, Jinjia, Xia Hong and Xixia, were abolished.
1957, Xinmin and Shizui Township in Shanzhai District of Huating County were classified as Jingyuan County. At this time, the county has jurisdiction over Xinmin, Laochi, Sheng Xing, Chengguan, Shatang, Shizui, Baimian, Garden, Huanghua, Huitai, Eastern Xia, Hebei, Qiaoguan and Hongtu 14 townships.
1958, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was established, and Jingyuan was transferred to Ningxia, belonging to Guyuan District and renamed Jingyuan County. The People's Commune, formerly known as Baimian, Hebei, Laochi, Eastern Xia, Xinmin and Shizui Township, was established as Jingheyuan Commune, located in Baimian; The former Chengguan, Qiaoguan, Zi Yuan and Shengxing Town established the Hongqi Commune, which was later changed to the Jingbei Commune and settled in Chengguan. The original four townships of Shatang, Huanghua, Huitai and Hongtu were established as Yuejin Commune and later changed to Huanghua Commune, which flourished in China.

1967, the five communes of Jingheyuan, Jingbei, Sheng Xing, Huanghua and Huitai were renamed as Hongwei, Hongqi, Dongfanghong, Dongfeng and Huo Xing communes respectively.

1970, Guyuan area was changed to Guyuan area in, and Jingyuan county belongs to Guyuan area. Now it belongs to Guyuan city.
1June, 983, the autonomous region designated Lucaowa, a suburb of Yinchuan and Yongning County, as the immigrant base of Jingyuan County. In February 65438, Jingyuan County established Tiedong and Tiexi townships here.
1984, commune system reform, all communes were changed to villages and towns.
1990, cancel Jingbei Township and set up Xiangshui Town and Zi Yuan Township respectively; Cancel Jinghe Heyuan Township and divide it into Baimian Town and Dongxia Township. At this point, the county has jurisdiction over 2 townships of perfume and flour and 5 townships of Xinmin, Eastern Xia, Huayuan, Huanghua and Huitai.
In 2000, Jingyuan County governed 2 towns and 6 townships.
In 2003, Dawan Township, Haodian Township and Shizilu Town in Yuanzhou District of Guyuan City were placed under Jingyuan County.
