At the beginning of 1955, Zhejiang (middle school) teacher training school was established. In August of the same year, the Provincial Department of Education decided to build Zhejiang Normal University on the basis of this school. 1956 in July, the provincial teachers' college was formally established, and the former secondary education research office of the provincial education department merged with the provincial literacy and primary teachers' college at the same time. 1958, the school was renamed Zhejiang Institute of Culture and Education.
1960 In March, the provincial party committee approved the change of Zhejiang Institute of Culture and Education into Zhejiang Institute of Education. From 196 1 to 1978 1, due to historical reasons, the school has been renamed several times and its affiliation has been changed several times. 1978 Zhejiang Institute of Education resumed and rebuilt. 1982, the school began to hold amateur undergraduate classes in normal universities. 1984, started undergraduate education by correspondence. 1993, the school enrolled full-time college students for the first time. 1994 enrolled full-time normal undergraduates for the first time. 1999, the school enrolled ordinary higher vocational students for the first time.
In September 2002, the provincial people's government approved the school to create conditions for changing from an adult college to an ordinary undergraduate college, and agreed that the school should choose a suitable plot to build a new campus. In 2006, the provincial government decided that Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, formerly Qiushi Institute of Applied Technology, would terminate its operation and be fully taken over by our school. Since 2007, the school has enrolled non-normal undergraduate students. In July 2008, the school signed an inter-school cooperation framework agreement with Beijing Foreign Studies University.
