The Historical Origin of Fengjie Navel Orange
Fengjie county is a world-famous old citrus producing area, and its cultivation history can be traced back to the Han Dynasty from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. According to "Geography of Hanshu", "There are orange officials in the belly of fish"; "Han Zhi" contains "pomelo is produced in all provinces, but the producer is sweet and edible"; "New Tang Book" contains: "Kuizhou, Tugong Citrus". When the poet Du Fu lived in Kuizhou, he was in charge of the citrus orchard and wrote the poem "When the oranges grow up, they are as golden as three inches". 1953 In autumn, fengjie county Horticultural Bureau introduced two Washington navel orange seedlings from Sichuan Fruit Research Institute (Jiangjin) and planted them in Caotang Orchard. 1972, Sichuan Citrus Selection and Breeding Cooperative Group selected "Fengyuan 72- 1" navel orange with high quality and high yield from imported plants. After eight years of observation and identification, its genetic traits are stable, and it won the third prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress with 1979. Wanxian Daily published the news of "Today's Baidicheng", and Fengjie Navel Orange has been neck and neck with Baidicheng since then. In 2000, Chongqing Crop Variety Approval Committee officially named "Fengyuan 72- 1" as "Fengjie Navel Orange". The local standard of Citrus Variety Fengjie Navel Orange (DB50/68-2002) approved by Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision on June 28th, 2002 was implemented on June 65438+ 10/day, 2003, and was put on record by AQSIQ on February 6th, 2003.
