Since 2022, the Tianjin senior high school entrance examination has been reformed. The examination subjects were changed from five subjects: Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics and Culture to seven subjects: Chinese, Mathematics, Foreign Languages, Physics, Culture, Taoism and History. The perfect score of sports changed from 30 to 40, and several ball games were added to the corresponding examination items. The total score rose from 590 to 800.

During the exam, the number of exam days has also changed from 2 days to 2.5 days. Among them, the geography and biology exams will be held in the second semester of senior two, and they will still be divided into excellent, good, qualified and unqualified.
