Miao uprising is a large-scale armed struggle against ethnic oppression in Miao history. The Qing Dynasty mobilized 180,000 troops from seven provinces to suppress it. Although the Battle of Ganjia brought profound disasters to the Miao people at that time, from the general trend of national development, it was this war that forced the rulers to change the strategy of governing the Miao people, thus accelerating the pace of national integration and promoting the development of the Miao society.
