Located in the northeast suburb of Anqing City, Anhui Province, Pogang Lake is the largest lake in the city, named after Pogang Mountain at the end of Hunan Province, with a total area of about 30 square kilometers. It has been connected with the Yangtze River for many times in history, and then it became a lake independently due to sediment deposition on the north bank of the Yangtze River. The average depth of the lake is about 5 meters, and it is rich in fish and shrimp.

In 20 17, Anqing's "One Lake and Nine Rivers" project was started, and the 10 water system, such as Bai Ze Lake, Qinglan Valley, Port Valley, Huaihe River, Qin Quan, Gangqiao River, Quantan Gorge, Xiaogang, Yaogou and Pogang Lake pumping station, was dredged, ecological slope protection and embankment filling were carried out, and the river landscape was afforested.
The project has been completed, with lake regulation 1.8 square kilometers, river regulation 18.96 kilometers and landscape greening area 1 176700 square meters. In the north, it leads from Lake Bogang to the river. If the river reaches the highest water level during the rainstorm, it can be pumped into the Yangtze River through the capacity of the pumping station to achieve the purpose of flood control and drainage.
