When did cows appear on the earth?
Cattle is a large domestic animal, which mainly comes from the long-term domestication of wild cattle and gradually becomes one of the "six livestock". According to archaeological excavations, at the latest, at the end of the Neolithic Age more than 7,000 years ago, ancient ancestors had successfully domesticated cattle. At that time, due to the low level of social productivity and production technology, ancestors often used animal husbandry and farming as their main lifestyles. Archaeologists have found a large number of remains of cattle and pigs in Peiligang cultural site in Henan, and similar discoveries have been made in Hemudu cultural site in Zhejiang. This shows from one side that in the late Neolithic period, cattle used to be an important food source for ancestors.
