Further north is Peking University Golden Street, which is divided into three sections from north to south, with a total length of no more than 700 meters. In the 1930s, it was a street where metal products were processed and operated, and the tinkling of metal processing rang all the year round. Nowadays, the names of these streets and lanes have disappeared, replaced by the first, second, third and fourth sections of Hongxing Road.
According to the records of streets and lanes in Chengdu kept by Chengdu Archives, Hongxing Road used to have different lengths and different starting and ending ranges. 1950, the "Tiandeng Lane" between Huaishu Street and Yuhuangguan Street was renamed "Hongxing Lane", which was the beginning of Hongxing Road. At 1954, Hongxing Lane extends northward to Fuhe River and is named Hongxing Street.
1964, Hongxing Street continued to extend southward to Xinnanmen Bridge, becoming a north-south main road, and was renamed "Hongxing Road" from then on.
1966, Hongxing Road ushered in the longest change: Balizhuang in the north and Mozi Bridge in the south. Among them, from Balizhuang to Hongxing Road Bridge is "Hongxing North Road", from Hongxing Road Bridge to Xinnanmen Bridge is "Hongxing Middle Road" and from Xinnanmen Bridge to Mozi Bridge is "Hongxing South Road". However, due to the length of Hongxing Middle Road, when Chengdu conducted a place name survey at 198 1, the starting and ending range of Hongxing Road was limited to Hongxing Road Bridge and Xinnanmen Bridge, and it was divided into four sections from north to south.
According to the new name, the original "Hongxing North Road" became "Fuqing Road" and the original "Hongxing South Road" became "Xinnan Road". And Hongxing Road has officially had "one section, two sections, three sections and four sections". Among them, the fourth section of Hongxing Road is expanded from Nandajin Street, Simian Street, Siwei Street and Jianguo North Street.
The well-known Hongxing Road Pedestrian Street in Chengdu was built in 2003. Based on the reconstruction of the third section of Hongxing Road, a pedestrian street square with a total length of 570 meters and a width of more than 40 meters was formed, consisting of seven landscapes.
Before 1980, Hongxing Road was one of the few spacious avenues in Chengdu. However, with the development of the city, the traffic volume of Hongxing Road has increased year by year, and the spacious Hongxing Road in the past has also begun to appear congestion.
In 2002, Chengdu Municipal People's Government decided to rebuild Hongxing Road. At first, the transformation plan of the relevant departments only widened the whole line of Hongxing Road to 40 meters. In the process of attracting investment, some merchants put forward the idea of second space, such as building viaducts or underground tunnels. The concept of the second space is adopted, and the reconstruction scheme of the middle section of Hongxing Road is obtained.
In June 2002, the scheme of Red Star Road underpassing the tunnel was passed, and the reconstruction project started at the end of the same year. Five months later, Hongxing Road overpass bridge and underpass tunnel were officially opened to traffic. Hongxing Road changed its former appearance and once became the smoothest road in Chengdu's north-south main roads. On July 3, 2065438, Kloc-0, Hongxing Road Pedestrian Street, which is connected with Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, officially opened. At this point, a brand-new multi-functional street gradually appeared in front of Chengdu citizens.
On June 20 15, Hongxing Road was upgraded again. By the beginning of 20 16, the Red Star Road, which is composed of flat roads, brand-new landscape nodes, simple and atmospheric walking space and fashionable overpasses, will be completely presented, and the street names that once disappeared will be decorated again.
In the old city of Chengdu from the north of Nanhe River to Fuhe River, street names such as Tiandeng Lane, Dajin Street, Simian Street, Shuyuan Main Street and Tangba Street, which bear the memory of Hongxing Road in the past, have been re-decorated. Xinhua intersection, underpass tunnel, Times Huazhang Square, Dongsheng Square, Du Yuan Street, binjiang road Community, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Moziqiao Garden, West Gate of Sichuan University, Asia Pacific Plaza, SOHO Boiling City, Blue Caribbean, Chuangfa Communication and other 13 nodes will be full of flowers. Hongxing Road will retain a long-term and unique city memory in this upgrade.
