Huaihua university, huaihua university, located in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by Hunan Provincial People's Government, headed by Hunan Provincial Education Department and supported by Hunan Agricultural University.

Huaihua university, formerly known as Qianyang Teachers College founded in 1958, has gone through two stages: Huaihua Teachers College and Huaihua Teachers College. In 2002, the school was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college and renamed huaihua university.

In February 2020, the school official website showed that huaihua university covers an area of 1 158 mu, with a building area of 520,000 square meters, which is divided into two campuses: the east campus and the west campus.
