Brief introduction of organic pigments
Refers to a class of pigments made of organic compounds with color and other pigment characteristics. The characteristics of pigments include light resistance, water immersion resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, heat resistance, crystal stability, dispersibility and hiding power. The difference between an organic pigment and a dye is that it has no affinity with the colored object. Only by attaching organic pigments to the surface of an object or mixing them inside can an object be colored. The intermediates, production equipment and synthesis process required for its production are almost the same as those of dyes, so organic pigments are often organized in the dye industry. Compared with ordinary inorganic pigments, organic pigments usually have higher coloring power, particles are easy to grind and disperse, and are not easy to precipitate, and their colors are brighter, but their light resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance are worse. Organic pigments are widely used for coloring ink, coatings, rubber products, plastic products, stationery and building materials.
