The children of Liyuan came from the Xuanzong period of the Tang Dynasty, and Liyuan is another name for the troupe. Historically, the Liyuan was originally a playground for the emperors of the Tang Dynasty, and the activities held included tug-of-war and playing ball games. Liyuan was originally a place name of Chang 'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. Because Li Longji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, taught artists here, it was later associated with China traditional drama and became synonymous with art organizations and artists.
