Qingdao, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, also known as Island City and Jiao 'ao, is a sub-provincial city, a city with separate plans [1], a megacity, an important coastal central city, a coastal holiday tourist city and an international port city in China approved by the State Council.
By the end of 2022 10, Qingdao has seven districts and three county-level cities [204], with a total area of 1 1293 square kilometers. 202 1 year-end resident population 10256700.
Qingdao is located in the east of China, southeast of Shandong Peninsula, and east of the Yellow Sea. It has a temperate monsoon climate with remarkable maritime characteristics [198].
It is the economic center of Shandong Province, an important pioneer area for the development of modern marine industry in the country, an international shipping hub in Northeast Asia, a maritime sports base [3], a major node city of the Belt and Road New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor and a strategic fulcrum for maritime cooperation.
Qingdao is a national historical and cultural city and the birthplace of Taoism in China. [5] It is named for its numerous trees and evergreen seasons. [6] In the seventeenth year of Guangxu (189 1), the Qing government stationed troops in Jiaoao, and in the nineteenth year of the Republic of China (1930), it was renamed Qingdao.
