Yizheng City is located in the central part of Jiangsu Province and belongs to Yangzhou City. It has a long history, dating back to the Neolithic Age. The historical development of Yizheng City can be divided into the following stages:
Neolithic Age: Archaeological excavations in Yizheng show that ancestors lived here in the Neolithic Age, with a history of more than 6,000 years.

Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms to Yuan Dynasty: During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Yizheng belonged to Hou Liang, the later Tang Dynasty, the later Jin Dynasty, the later Han Dynasty and the later Zhou Dynasty. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Yizheng County was established in Yizheng, which became the administrative, military, economic and cultural center. Ming and Qing Dynasties: During the Ming Dynasty, Yizheng County was under the political bureau of Nanjing. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the handicraft industry and commerce in Yizheng County developed rapidly. In the Qing Dynasty, Yizheng County's economy further prospered, especially in textile, paper making, printing and other industries.
